Sourdough
Sourdough is mixed, left to rise, and baked until the crust is crisp and brown. The interior stays soft. If the crust is still pale, the loaf stays in the oven a little longer, then it rests until it is pleasant to take home.
About
ROYAL CRUMB is a bakery that prepares bread and pastries with care. You tell us the bake, the number, the day, and any food that should stay out of the dough. We mix the dough, let it rise, shape it, bake it, and let it rest. A full catering booking sits outside this visit, and we do not give dietary or medical advice. You can read the steps here before you come. It is a simple, welcoming visit from the first hello to the bake you collect.
Before you come, you can see which bake fits and what to tell us. These pages follow the work from the bake you name to the moment it is ready to carry home. There is no form on the site. A question goes through the contact page, and we answer with the bake that has rested. If it is still warm, we offer a later collection. That later time is still the same bake.

A fruit tart is a light pastry base with fresh fruit on top. The fruit is added only after the base has cooled, so the pastry stays crisp. Sourdough is described in its own block.
Whole-grain bread is sliced only after the interior has settled, so every slice stays soft in the middle. The slices are cut for you, not to fill a gap on the counter. Each one keeps a brown edge, and they are ready when you come for them.
The pages explain the bakes, what you tell us, and the steps we take. You can read them before you write to the bakery. You tell us the bake, the number, and the day. We mix, bake, and let the piece rest. A catering booking is not part of that visit, and neither is dietary or medical advice.
